Barbara J. Zech, 83, of Lake Hallie, died peacefully at home with her family by her side under the care of St. Croix Hospice on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
On August 8, 1942, Barbara was born in San Antonio, TX, to Allyn A. & Mary (Cedena) Burt. She was united in marriage to Ronald L. Zech on September 19, 1959, in Chippewa Falls. Barbara's professional life was marked by her passion for working with people. She earned her Realtor's License, where she found joy in helping clients. Prior to her successful career in real estate, she spent many years as a representative for Stanley Home Products. Barbara enjoyed trips with friends and family and special trips and cherished time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the casino, camping at the lake, music festivals, gardening, crafting, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her husband of almost 67 years, Ronald; children, Laury (Larry) Konwinski, Mark Zech, Dana (Greg) Gadke all of Chippewa Falls and Douglas (Ruth) Zech, of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Eric Kramschuester, Bridget Konwinski, Tyler Zech, Tara (Dewey) Neal, Jennifer (Tyler) Buntz, and Codie (Alena) Gadke; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Easton & Preston Buntz, Gavin, Macie & Brecken Gadke and Vincent Neal; brother, Allyn D. Burt; sister, Gigi Wells; along with many other loving family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, David (Janet) Harris.
The family would like to thank the St. Croix Hospice team and special family friends, Cathy Sedlacek and Heidi Guckenberg for all their loving care.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls, with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Chaplain Mike Deckman of St. Croix Hospice will be officiating. The interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery at a later date.
