Bettye Anderson

January 4, 1934 — February 2, 2018

Bettye Mae Anderson (nee Williams), 84, passed into her Lord’s Kingdom on February 2, 2018 in Chippewa Falls, WI. Bettye was a member of First Baptist Church in Eau Claire, WI.

Bettye was born in Metropolis, IL and attended high school in Albion, IL. She graduated from Southern Illinois University and she received her Master’s in Piano Performance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She lived in Milwaukee, WI, where she was a piano teacher for over 40 years. She was an active member of several musical societies.

Bettye was an accomplished pianist, loving wife and caring mother who also was an excellent cook and baker. She founded a pre-school for the blind in Milwaukee and for many years she was the principal pianist for the Great Lakes Opera Company and Patio Players. One of Bettye’s greatest joys came from getting together with her family, especially her sisters and brothers, whenever possible. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting throughout her life.

Bettye is survived by her husband of 62 years, Earl K. Anderson, her daughter Ellen (Dave), son Kenneth (Debby), sisters Jane (Bernie, deceased), Nancy (John, deceased), Virginia (Doug) and her brother, Dick (Jane). She is preceded by her daughter, Gena, and brother, Roger (Lucy). Bettye is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

The family thanks the staff of Our House, Chippewa Falls and Heartland Hospice for their tender care in Bettye’s final days.

A spring memorial service is being planned in Albion, IL.
