Bruce R. Christensen, 93, of Chippewa Falls, with family by his bedside, died peacefully under the care of St. Croix Hospice at Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire, WI, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Bruce was born October 27, 1930, in St. Paul, MN to Elmer and Marion (Wilson) Christensen.  In 1948, Bruce graduated from Chippewa Falls High School. He attended Ohio State University, graduating in 1952, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. Bruce married Beverly Siebel on June 10, 1951, and they had 3 children. He later married Jean Rice in 1966, and they had 1 child plus Bruce adopted 3 of her children.

His career and passion for Horticulture started at a very young age working with the family business at Christensen Florist in Chippewa Falls. After college, Bruce worked for Pan America Seed followed by Ball Seed Company in Florida for 32 years. He created many hybrid plants, but his proudest accomplishment was his “Super Pepper.” Bruce resided in Ohio, Colorado, and Florida before returning home to Wisconsin in the early 2000’s.

He loved fishing, traveling and hunting, which led him to Africa many times. His passion and dedication to work allowed him to venture too South American. Bruce was a proud husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle that will be missed by all who knew him. His life was truly fulfilled here on earth and now his peaceful journey to heaven will be met with open arms by his eternal family.

Bruce is survived by his children, Kim (James) Hagen of Modena, WI, Rob (Cindy) Christensen of Chippewa Falls, Joseph Christensen of Orlando, FL, Tim (Pam) Christensen of Palmetto, FL, Lori (Doug) Worthman of Greeley, CO and Karen (Art) Rogers of Greeley, CO; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Debbie Christensen; siblings, Judy (Jerry Brost) Brist and Kay (Gary) Peterson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Marion and Elmer Christensen; wife, Jean; & son, Michael.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Chaplain Steve Hay will be officiating. The interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls on Friday, February 23, at 11 a.m.
