Charles William Bresina, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving wife, Nancy and his family.
He was born on October 10th, 1946, in Chippewa Falls to Clement and Marie (Davis) Bresina. He was a proud resident of the village of Lake Hallie. He married Nancy Engel on January 18th, 1964, in Iowa. He was a hard worker all his life helping to run his family farm, hauling feed and grain, working with his dad, eventually taking over the business, and was the first trucking company to haul Chippewa Spring Water (at Bresina Trucking’s peak, he owned 13 semi’s and 20 trailers). How he loved his time behind the wheel but more importantly he enjoyed the time he spent with the people around him, conversing and catching up with each and every one of them.
Upon retirement he worked for a medical delivery company and later returned to his first love of driving semi for a local farmer. In his pastime he enjoyed camping, bowling, riding his golf cart, plowing snow on his John Deere tractor, going to all his kids/grand & great grandkids events, no matter what they may be and solving all the world's problems while on his riding lawn mower or morning time with his McDonald's men. He loved his time on the farm, riding horses, nightly rocking his beloved mini-schnauzer "Chester", spending time with neighbors and teasing anyone he could; the banter kept the glimmer bright in his green eyes and a big smile on his face. He loved every child that entered their doors who lovingly called him "Papa". Often known as "Chuck", he was a generous, kind, and loving man; helping those he knew as he never met a stranger.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy A Bresina; daughters; Theresa (Mike Witzel) Sullivan of Stacy, MN and Kellee (Daniel) Petik of Chippewa Falls, WI; sons, Michael (Nina) Bresina of Chippewa Falls, WI and Daniel (Cheryl) Bresina of Altoona, WI; grandchildren, Nichole (Brittany) Summers, Maranda (Audie Christianson) Mack, Jacob (Brittany) Sullivan, Austin (Elita) Schmidt, Logan Sullivan, Courtney (Sawyer) Stearns, Makenna (Jaron) Johnson, Chloe (Westin) Klingbeil, and Christopher Petik; great-grandchildren, Conner Nygaard, Melanie & Mason Siegert, Eislee Schmidt, Lincoln, Brynn, & Ayla Sullivan, Charlie & Claire Stearns and Yeti Knocks “fur-gran”; siblings, Barb (Jim Beaudette) Leland, Mary Pat (Gary) Geissler, Lou Ann Vogler (Wayne Steinmetz), and Debra (Steve) Short; Nancy's siblings, Annette Schafer, Gale (Mary Ann) Engel, Rodger Engel, and Barbara Nelson; along with many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Victoria Bresina; parents, Clement & Marie Bresina; in-laws, Ford & Marjorie Engel; sister, Marcella (James) Reed; extended family, Duane Engel, Russell Nelson, Robert Schafer, and Masayo Engel.
The funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Central Lutheran Church, 28 E. Columbia Street, Chippewa Falls, with a visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Aaron Sturgis will be officiating. A Private entombment will be in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum, Chippewa Falls.
