Charles David Grant, age 79 of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday January 16, 2026, under the care of St. Croix Hospice at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls, WI.
He was born January 11, 1947, to Charles and Beverly Grant in Mansfield, OH. Dave was a dedicated professional who graduated from Clear Fork High School, Bellville, OH in 1965, and further went on to pursue his Bachelor of Science Degree in Dairy Science and Economics from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH in 1969. During his college years, he met and married Sherry in 1968. Over the years, he nurtured a successful career transitioning from farming to the banking sector. He worked with distinguished establishments including Doboy Industries, PCA Farm Credit, Security National Bank, and lastly, Westconsin Credit Union from where he retired in 2011.
Throughout his life, Dave stayed rooted to his humble beginnings and lived in various cities including Columbus, OH; Chippewa Falls, WI; Faribault, MN; Blooming Prairie, MN; Menomonie, WI; Elk Mound, WI; Durand, WI and Eau Claire, WI. He moved back to Chippewa Falls in 2020, where he lived until his final days.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Grant, and their daughter Patti Grant (Tim). He was a loving grandfather to Alyssa Martenson (Andrew), great granddaughter Addalynn, and a supportive brother to Virginia Davis (Dean), Roger Grant (April) and Brian Grant (Lynda). He was also a dear brother-in-law to Sandy Doege (Clint) and Gary Harris (Sharon). He is further survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, niece Johanna and in-laws; Ned, Dorothy, Donald, Linda and Judy. His life was etched with the love and respect of a large, close-knit family.
Dave enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, playing golf, traveling with his wife, hunting and fishing. Specifically spending time with family and friends. Dave was known for his patience, intellect, and tenderheartedness and caring nature. He was soft-spoken, kind and deeply connected with his friends and family. His life was a testament to his warmhearted personality, and his values will continue to live on through his loved ones. Dave lived a life of love, compassion and dedication. His memories will forever be etched in our hearts, and he will be dearly missed.
A visitation for Dave will be held on January 30, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services in Chippewa Falls, WI.
