Christine “Chris” R. Krumenauer, 61, of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Lake Hallie Memory Care.
On November 11, 1964, Chris was born to James and Deann (Cohoon) Kern, in Madison, WI. She graduated from Chi Hi with the class of 1982. Chris married Jay Krumenauer on Jan 3, 2008.
Chris held many job positions including Quality Control with Cray Computers and Anderson Windows, buyer, and finally as abstract in medical records with Mayo for many years. Chris was an avid collector of Red Wing crocks and pottery - including some rare pieces. She also collected vintage signs and a few gas pumps - following her husband's passion. Chris and Jay loved their "fur babies" - sharing their home with many Great Danes over the years.
Chris and Jay enjoyed riding their Harley and took part in many rides including Sturgis. She loved to vacation and trips to Mexico and the Caribbean were a favorite. Rock Fest was an annual tradition for them - celebrated with many close friends.
Chris is survived by her sisters, Roxanne (Tom) Walsh and Shari Wetterling; brother, Allen (Sue) Kern; brothers-in-law, DeWayne (Rita) Krumenauer, Larry (Colleen) Krumenauer, Peter (Jackie) Krumenauer, Paul (Jean) Krumenauer and Charlie Klemke; sister-in-law, Jalene (Dan) Lansing; along with many nieces, nephews and many friends.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jay; sister-in-law, Janice; and brother-in-law, Terry Krumenauer.
The funeral service to honor Chris’ life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls, with the visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Pastor Troy Solava will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family that will be donated to a charity dear to Chris’ heart.
