Clarence Hakes

Clarence E. Hakes, 90, of the town of Lafayette, Chippewa Falls died peacefully at home on January 19, 2018.

He was born January 8, 1928 to Robert and Louisa (Adrian) Hakes.

In 1946 he was drafted into the US Army and served in the Philippines.

Clarence retired from the Northern Center after 34 years of employment. He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting and ice fishing.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Corinne Grill Hakes; his daughters, Patsy Hehl of Eau Claire, Linda (Gary) Quammen of Chippewa Falls and Barb (Dan) Ewings of Baudette, MN; step-children, Jerry Grill of Lake Hallie, Sandra (Gene) Miller of Negaunee, MI and Jim Grill of Cadott; sisters, Bev Conrad and Nancy (Everett) Greene and their families; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

A private family service will be held. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Memorials are preferred to Irvine Park.
