Darla married Stephen H. Halpin in July of 1959. They moved to Milwaukee and then to Sand Creek where they farmed. They moved to Chippewa Falls in the early 80's where Darla owned and operated the "Silver Dollar" Bar in Jim Falls.
Survivors include: a son, Rick (Maria) Halpin of Cornell; four sisters, Pat (Robert) Neal of Wadsworth, Ill., Karen (Eugene) Schroeder of Augusta, Susan Pitsavas of Chippewa Falls, Kim (Jim) Jensen of Eau Claire; a brother, Gary (Judy) Geissler of Franklin, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Stephen III, Katie, Charles, Alexander, Nickolas and Michael; one great-grandson, Dylan Lee Halpin; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; two sons, Stephen Jr. and David J. Halpin and a brother, William "Billy" Geissler.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 4 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Fr. Robert Hoekstra, officiating.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel
