Dawn M. Schick, 83, of Jim Falls, Passed Away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, under the care of Heartland Hospice, and loved ones.

Dawn was born on May 13, 1942, in Chippewa Falls to Leonard and Eva (Shaffer) Korn. She graduated from McDonell High School and moved to Chicago where she met her first husband, Robert Maland. In August of 1962, she gave birth to her first of 5 children, Daniel, soon after came Roxie, Rhonda, Leonard, and Eric.

Dawn was a single mother from 1971, until she was married in 1981, to Earl Schick, who had 9 of his own children. Dawn was a member of Jim Falls United Methodist Church, where she served the community through volunteerism. Dawn sponsored local community organizations as well as the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, known for feeding holocaust survivors.

Her heart was in Jesus word and loving those around her. Dawn was a caring and kindhearted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend that will be missed by all who knew her. She worked as a home health aide who worked and thrived in helping others remain home rather than nursing homes. (Including hospice care).

Her family was extremely important to her. She talked about her family often, telling stories of her children through the years. Dawn was passionate about teaching others the word of God. She was an animal lover and especially loved her cats. She had pet pigs and collected pig memorabilia. Dawn loved to be behind the camera taking photos of her family and preserving memories for all to share.

Dawn is survived by her children, Daniel Maland (Misty P.), Rhonda Schrader (Al), Leonard (Vivian) Maland, Roxie Maland, Eric Maland, Carl (Alice) Schick, Bonnie (Ken) Tautges, Kate (Andy) Heying, Keith (Jackie) Schick, Ken Schick, Randy Schick, Terry Schick, and Don Schick; 28 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Along with many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Eva Korn; her husband, Earl Schick; step-Daughter, Shirley Cheever; grandchildren, Tony Cheever and Jaxon Labrec.

The visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Jim Falls United Methodist Church, 13883 County Hwy S, Jim Falls, WI 54748.

The Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday and Jim Falls United Methodist Church, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Paul Messmer will be officiating. The interment will be in Copp Cemetery, Town of Anson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, or Jim Falls United Methodist Church for food pantry efforts.

Dawn collected hats and loved purple and green. If you feel inclined, please wear those colors and or a tat to the visitation and service.
