Delbert W. Zimpel

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date for Delbert W. Zimpel, age 93, who passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI. Arrangements are entrusted to Pederson-Volker Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.

Delbert was born on August 15, 1932 in Medford, WI to Arthur and Carrie (Nelson) Zimpel. He proudly served our country in the United States Airforce. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Myrna Laabs on June 22, 1963. Together, they moved to Chippewa Falls in 1967, where Delbert worked as a government inspector at National Presto Industries for many years. They also owned and operated a horse ranch in Lafayette. After retirement, Delbert enjoyed restoring and rebuilding two cylinder John Deere tractors.

Delbert is survived by his son, David Zimpel of Maustin; grandchildren, Erin (David) Paris of St. Petersburg, FL, Ryan (Kelsey) McDowall of Aberdeen, WA; and great grandchildren, Hudson and Grayson Paris and Kellen and Saylor McDowall; sister, Carol Kirkpatrick of Kernersville, NC; brother, Harvey (Laura) Zimpel of Abilene, TX; and son-in-law, Carl Amato of Spencer, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myrna; son, Guy Zimpel; daughter, Beth Amato; brothers, Richard and Jerry Zimpel; daughter-in-law, Sherrill Zimpel; sisters-in-law, Sue and Donelle Zimpel; and brother-in-law, Ronald, Kirkpatrick.
