Dennis J. Klinger, 93, of the Town of Eagle Point, died peacefully at home surround by his loving family on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
On April 20, 1933, Dennis was born in Chippewa Falls to John and Lillian (Polzin) Klinger. He graduated from Chippewa High School. Dennis met his future wife while she was working at Klinger Farms. He and Patsy Riedel later married on March 20, 1953, at St John’s Lutheran Church in Eagleton. They continued working side by side on the farm, raising mink, potatoes and their children. Dennis and his brothers worked side by side at Klinger Farms Inc. What began as a high school FFA project, became a lifelong career of farming potatoes, shaping his future and dedication to the land.
While his family and farm were his first priorities, he took great pride in his community. He assisted with the founding of Chippewa Fire District and volunteered for Eagle Point Fire Department for 23 years. He served on the Bloomer Memorial Hospital board for 35 years. He and Patsy were lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eagleton and he served as the President of the Church Council for many years. They wintered in South Padre Island, TX. for more than 40 years. Dennis enjoyed his annual boys only fishing trips to Canada. He also never missed a trip to the MN State Fair from the time he was in High School. Dennis had fond memories of snowmobile trips with his friends, who later formed the Eagleton Snoflyers snowmobile club.
Dennis is survived by his children, Susan Walloch of The Villages, FL, Duane (Mona) Klinger of Bloomer, Mary (Gerald) Amelse of Chippewa Falls, Sandra Rasmussen and Kathie (Rocky) Berg of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Joe, Mark, Tia, Max, Brent, Troy, Laura, Justin, Travis, Tonya, Tanner, and Taylor; many great-grandchildren; and brothers, Robert and David (Jan) Klinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patsy; son, John; grandson, Brandon; son-in-law, Gerald Walloch.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 14 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eagleton with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Eagleton Cemetery. After the interment, a luncheon will be served at the Eagleton Town Hall.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lily Hospice for all their loving care given to Dennis.
