Diane Marie Furst, 86, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, at LakeHouse in Chippewa Falls on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Diane was born on March 20, 1940, to Blanche and Walter Krohn in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. She graduated from McDonnell Central High School in 1958, and married Donald Furst on September 12, 1959. Don and Diane raised their family of three daughters in their home on the West Hill. After the girls were in school, Diane went to work at the Rutledge Home, retiring in 2002 after more than 20 years of service in the dietary department.
Diane’s hobbies included flower gardening, reading and travel. Diane traveled throughout the United States and Europe with her daughters, including several trips to see Celine Dion perform in Las Vegas. She was active in the Chippewa Falls Senior Center and in activities sponsored by the Chippewa County Home and Community Education program. Diane enjoyed spending time with her children, their families and their pets.
Diane is survived by her three daughters, Julie (Daniel) Bowe of Elk Mound, Tammy (Robert) Boeger of Stratford, WI, and Lisa Sullivan of Chippewa Falls; her sister, Jeanine (Robert) Marek of Cadott; and her brother, Donald (Ethel) Krohn of Motley, MN. She is further survived by former son-in-law, Kelly Sullivan of Bloomer; four grandchildren, Alex (Courtney) Boeger of Stratford, Kelsey (Jon) Kunkel of Stratford, Sydney Boeger of Philadelphia, and Shane Sullivan of Eau Claire; and three great grandchildren, Luke, Graham, and Noah Boeger of Stratford. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Furst, of Chippewa Falls, her sister-in-law, Sandy Furst, of Chippewa Falls, by twelve nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald; his brother Francis Furst; his sister, Esther (Melvin) Olson; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Furst.
At Diane’s request, a private family service will be held, officiated by Father Daniel Sedlacek, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Lakehouse and to St. Croix Hospice for providing Diane with exceptional care and compassion during her final weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bob’s House for Dogs in Eleva or to the American Cancer Society.
