Dolores Elliott

Dolores M. Elliott, 89, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

She was born May 17, 1928, on the family farm to Frank and Lucy (Wagner) Schopper.

In June of 1947, Dolores married Dale Elliott and together they had four children. She stayed home to care for their children while they were young, and later began working at St. Joseph’s Hospital where she was employed for 25 years.

Dolores learned how to drive a car after her husband Dale suffered from a stroke in 1975. After that she discovered a freedom that took her whenever and wherever she wanted. She was always on the go and took her grandkids on many trips to the cottage near Spooner, WI.

She lived on Edward Street in Chippewa Falls for 50 years until dementia caused her to enter a memory care facility. Dolores was a caring and compassionate lady, always ready to help people and was a friend to many. Even in her later years she was always helping others, her final act was donating her body to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Anatomy Department for research.

Dolores is survived by her four children, David (Mary) of Eau Claire, Don (Gina) of Chippewa Falls, Doug (Diane) of Chippewa Falls and Debra (Douglas) Overton of Colorado; grandsons, Ryan and Darryn Elliott and Jeff and Lee Overton; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Reynolds, Joan (Don) Kempf and Dorothy (John) Jirschele; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Dale in 1980.

The family would like to thank all the caretakers who helped her at Clearwater Care Center and Our House Memory Care over the years.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2019 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating. Private interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Dolores will be greatly missed by all who knew her. “Rest in peace, Mom. We love you.”
