Dorothy J. Phillips Holtman, 98, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home.

She was born June 12, 1917 in Alma, Wisconsin to Emil and Anna (Klingle) Erickson.

Dorothy retired on January 4, 1980 from the Northern Center where was employed for 25 years. She worked as an aide in the building and became their first female bus and ambulance driver.

In her spare time Dorothy enjoyed painting, gardening, canning, tending her flower beds and travelling to spend time with family. She also enjoyed her church family at Bateman English Lutheran Church.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Dorothy (Al) Fouts of Chippewa Falls, Howard (Joan) Phillips of Somerset, Ed (Mary) Phillips of Bloomer, Tom (Denny) Phillips of North Carolina, Dick Phillips of Denver, Colorado, Bill (Glenda) Phillips of Chippewa Falls, and Katie (Dave) Huse of Bloomer; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty DeWitz of Eau Claire; and sister-in-law, Nellie Erickson of Chippewa Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Eugene Phillips; second husband, Harold Holtman; grandson, Scott Bergeron; brother, Jim Erickson; and sisters, Violet (Howard) Cleasby and Florence (Howard) Gilbert.

A celebration of life service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel. Private interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
