Eugene Kloss

Eugene Neil "Gene" Kloss, 82, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 4, 1928 in Eau Claire, the son of Leone Kloss. Gene served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a weather observer during WW II. After being discharged from the service, he took flying lessons in Eau Cliare and obtained his pilots license. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 77.

Gene married Lois Ann Emberson on August 14, 1949 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. They celebrated their 60th anniversay in 2009.

In 1961 they moved to Chippewa Falls. Gene established Chippewa Auto Body and operated the business until retiring in 1984. Lois was his partner in the business serving as secretary and bookkeeper. He also co-owned Cornell Auto Body for 16 years.
