George McDowell

George C. McDowell, 55, of 916 Miles St., Chippewa Falls, died suddenly and unexpectedly at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

He was born June 24, 1954 in Superior to H. Jane (Waggoner) and Leon McDowell. In 1972, he graduated from Superior Sr. High School and then continued his education at UW-Superior, where he earned a B.A. in Accounting.

George began working at Washburn County as their Finance Director, then worked for Pete, Marwick & Mitchell in Duluth before moving to Chippewa Falls in 1990. He had been employed as the County Auditor and Finance Director for Chippewa County since moving to the area.
