Harrington D. "Dave" Kuhn, age 72, passed away unexpectedly in the presence of his family at Sacred Heart Hospital of Eau Claire on the afternoon of Sunday, October 30, 2016. He was a resident of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
On May 9, 1944, in Boston, Massachusetts, Dave was born to parents Jacob Kuhn and Kathleen (Davis) Kuhn. He was the eldest of four children. Dave graduated from Michigan Tech in Houghton, Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He also spent time in Korea and Japan on active duty during the Vietnam War. He then served as an accountant for Owens-Illinois in Tomahawk, Wisconsin; Jacksonville, Florida; and Valdosta, Georgia, before settling into Miller Brewing Company in Albany, Georgia, where he dwelled with his family for 18 years.
In 1996, Dave and his wife Linda moved to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin where he acted as Vice President of Finance at Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. Dave's passion, outside history, geography, and camping/canoeing/hiking with his family, was the beer business. He fit in well with the Leinenkugel crew and loved going there to work with them each day. Post-retirement, Dave enjoyed working as a consultant in auditing for Titus Group which took him to Germany and Italy, along with other cities around the eastern and southern USA where he was often accompanied by Linda.
Dave married the love of his life, Linda Joy Kuhn, on July 6, 1968, at First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was blessed with one daughter, Joy Kathleen. Through the years, Dave treasured being involved in the community, serving as President of the Main Street Committee of Chippewa Falls. More recently, he enjoyed reading tomes exploring democracy in America, making maple syrup with his neighbors, and sitting quietly on the lake shore with Linda.
Dave's character of high integrity, intelligence, compassion, and kindness will remain in the hearts of his family forever. His was a life well led.
Left to honor Dave's life and mourn his death is his wife, Linda J Kuhn; daughter, Joy K Kuhn; siblings, Sandra (John) Sharum, Terence (Betsy) Kuhn, Jay (Damita) Kuhn, nephews James (Vanessa) Kuhn, Jeff (Lynn) LeMoine, Jason (Erin) LeMoine, Greg LeMoine; nieces Liz Sharum, Lee (Chris) Kuhn, Kate (Cole) Hayward, and many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death and there to welcome Dave home are his parents, Jay and Kathleen.
