Jane E. Cyr

Jane Elizabeth Cyr, 75, of the Town of Wheaton passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 11th, 2026 at Colfax Senior Living under the care of St. Croix Hospice. We appreciate the kindness and comfort they provided in her final days.

Jane was born on April 9th, 1951 to the late Bert and Bev (Myers) Johnson. She was raised on the family farm alongside her 6 siblings.

Jane graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1969 and attended the University of WI Eau Claire until she met her soul mate, Chuck Cyr. They were married on October 2nd, 1971 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Together they built a life filled with love and partnership, which included raising their three daughters, Keri, Jenny and Erin.

Jane worked for many years at Cray Research and later at Pactiv before retiring in 2013. She took great pride in her work but it was the people she met and the friendships she made along the way that meant the most to her.

Jane was a devoted member of her community being actively involved in St Joseph's Parish St. Mary's Church Circle, Homemakers and Sunny Valley 4-H where she especially loved participating in the Scandinavian bake sales, serving church dinners and taking 4-H trips with her girls.

Jane and Chuck enjoyed many activities together including spending countless hours in their garden, walking their beloved Sammie for miles and seeing who could out fish each other on the lake. There was nothing Jane enjoyed more than being around her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She attended as many band performances, concerts and sporting events as she could, always beaming with pride.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, 6 months and 9 days, Chuck; her daughters, Keri (David) Chumbley of Rosemount, MN; Jenny Cyr of Eden Prairie, MN; and Erin (Ryan) Garnett of Elk Mound, WI; her beloved grandchildren, Josh, Claire, Carter, Abby and Emery; her siblings, Judy Johnson, Dale Johnson, Carol (Andy) Hewitt, Al (Rose Ann) Johnson, Jan (Scott) Coenen and Kathy (Mark) Eisold; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Cyr and Linda Cyr; brother-in-law, Ken Girard; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by Chuck's parents, Buck and Fran Cyr and his siblings, Dave Cyr, Steve Cyr, Dan Cyr and Cathy Girard; her brother-in-law, George Johnson; and her sister-in-law, Kathy Johnson.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1st, at Pederson‑Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls, with a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Following the service, the family invites everyone to join them in celebrating Jane’s life from 2:00–6:00 p.m. at VFW Post 305, 1300 Starr Ave., Eau Claire.
