Janet J. Hager

Janet J. Hager, age 90, Village of Lake Hallie, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Grace Lutheran Communities - Prairie Pointe, Altoona, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

On January 11, 1935, Janet was born to Clinton and Pearl (English) Douglas in Bloomer WI. Janet graduated from Chippewa Falls High School with the class of 1953. On June 20th, 1953, she married George Hager. Janet was a member of the Chippewa Falls Moose Lodge. She enjoyed her time with her “Lunch Bunch Ladies.” Caring for all her grandchildren was something she cherished. She was a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be missed by all who knew her.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Holly (David) Stavnaw, Jill (Buck) Niblett, and Lisa Moyenda; four grandchildren, Derek Stavnaw and his children, Payton, Lilah & Sofia, Angela (Mike) Miller, Bethany (Ryan) Burtness and their children, Jordan, Lydia & Shawn, and Kayla (Simon) Scroggins and her children, Zeke, Zane, Zali, Eli & Kimberly; sister, Kathleen Mandernack of Racine; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years, George in 2020; infant grandson, Matthew Stavnaw; brother, Dale (Margaret) Douglas; and brother-in-law, Larry Mandernack.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Country Chapel Church, 19092 County Hwy J, Chippewa Falls WI, 54729 with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Roger Mickelson will be officiating. The interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery in the village of Lake Hallie.
