Janice Ginzl

July 7, 1940 — March 14, 2019

Janice C. Ginzl, 78, of Chippewa Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 14, 2019.

God has blessed me with my amazing husband, Ken and our wonderful daughters, grandchildren, many special family members and friends.

I was blessed to take care of many children in my home for 20 years.  Many of these children truly became a part of our family.

Janice is survived by her husband, Ken; three daughters, Sue Nelson, Trish Pias and Laurie Ginzl; her grandchildren, Rebecca (Chris) Poulos, Joshua (Jaime) Nelson, Andrew (Sammy) Nelson and family, Jeremy Nelson and family, Ashley and Ryan Pias; several great-grandchildren; her siblings, James (Kathy) Solberg, Joyce Solberg, and Tommy (Cynthia) Solberg.

Preceded in death by her parents, Juanette (Larsen) and Leslie Solberg; sister, Alice Anderson; brother, Lester Solberg; brother-in-law, Edward Ginzl; sister-in-law, Elaine Fenske; and son-in-law, Gregory Pias.

Janice and her family are grateful for the compassionate and loving care they received for many years from Dr. David Schifeling and the wonderful staff at the Sacred Heart Cancer Center, and also the thoughtful and kind staff at the Marshfield Cancer Center, along with the support and care by the staff from St. Joseph’s Hospice.

Also to Kristi Gehring, a special friend, who directed Janice to the Cancer Center when she needed to be there.

I am eternally grateful to Pastor John Ericksen, my pastor and friend, who led me into a personal relationship with Jesus.  As I watched how he lived, I knew I wanted to have faith like his.  I am thankful for all the people who have helped me grow in faith and to continue to grow into the person Jesus wants me to be.

Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.”  Revelation 3:20

My prayer is that all who read these words will open their heart to my awesome Lord and Savior.

A funeral service celebrating a life well lived will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 19 at Central Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
