Jay L. Krumenauer

Jay L. Krumenauer, aged 69, of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

On July 4th, 1956, Jay was born to Casper and Betty (Perkovich) Krumenauer, in Chippewa Falls. He attended school at Stillson Elementary, Chippewa Falls Junior and Senior High School. Jay married Chris Kern on Jan 3, 2008.

Jay had worked many different jobs, laborer, truck driving, butchering process and meat cutting. He became the meat manager at the grocery store in Mondovi, WI. He was a Ninja with his meat cutting skills, fast and efficient. Jay had many hobbies of collecting many vintage signs, automotive memorabilia, old gas pumps, and rebuilding chevy engines. Jay was also master griller, making his own style of sausage and jerky, and smoking meat in his home constructed smoker.

Jay and Chris enjoyed riding his Harley on road trips and making many exclusive trips to Mexico and the Caribbean. They loved hanging out with friends at music festivals. Jay was a Green Bay Packer fan, was a great storyteller and a practical prankster. When Jay was around, there was going to be some sort of harmless prank.

Jay is survived by his wife, Chris; brothers, DeWayne (Rita), Larry (Colleen), Peter (Jackie), and Paul (Jean); his sister, Jalene (Dan) Lansing; his brothers-in-law, Charlie Klemke and Allen (Sue) Kern; sisters-in-law, Roxanne (Tom) Walsh and Shari Wetterling; along with many nieces, nephews and many friends, especially, Bonzo, and Bim.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Terry; and his sisters, Janice Klemke and another sister who passed away in infancy.

The funeral service to honor Jay’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
