Jean M. Dupey, 81, of Chippewa Falls, passed away after a short illness on Sunday, April 2, 2017 surrounded by her family and under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.
She was born September 18, 1935 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Florence (Benish) and Melvin Lewis. Jean graduated from Chippewa Falls High School.
On September 13, 1958, Jean married Michael J. "Mike" Dupey at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. They resided in Chippewa Falls, where Jean worked at the downtown theaters for many years. She then worked at Woolworth's, and later at JCPenney until the store's closing, when she went to work at Gordy's Greenhouse until her retirement.
Jean was a faithful member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. She also loved gardening and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include a daughter, Michele (Dale) Hawkins of Chippewa Falls; a son, Mark Dupey of Fall Creek; a sister, Karol Hedrington; sisters-in-law, Diane Lewis, Helen Kouba, Connie Rose, all of Chippewa Falls; and a brother-in-law, David (Janice) Dupey of Exeland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike on October 10, 2009; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in law.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Msgr. Michael Gorman officiating. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Cadott.
