Joanne M. Olson

Joanne M. (Sippy) Olson, 98, of Chippewa Falls, died Friday, August 1, 2025, at Comforts of Home in Chippewa Falls while under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

She was born, April 16, 1927, in Chippewa Falls to Clinton and Eunice Sippy. In 1945 she graduated from Chippewa Falls High School.

Joanne was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church. For many years she was a Girl Scout Leader and belonged to Chapter B National T.T.T. Society. Over the years she worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Olson’s Creamland Dairy, Herberger’s Department Store, Fabric Fair, and the Northern Center, retiring in 1985.

Her love and interest in family was most important and living close to all of them was a real blessing. She enjoyed her many friends and belonged to several bridge clubs.

Joanne is survived by her son, David (Mary Lee) Olson of Chippewa Falls; daughter, Susan (Ken) Mullen of Chippewa Falls; grandsons, Mark Mullen and Patrick and John Olson; granddaughter, Kelsey Mullen; great-grandchildren, Lewis, Willem and Freja Mullen; and granddaughter-in-law, Anwen Mullen.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Howard (in 2011); parents, Clinton Sippy and Eunice (Card) Kehnl; brother, David (Jean) Sippy; and grandson, Paul Mullen.

The family would like to thank Autumn and the staff at Comforts of Home in Chippewa Falls, and the staff of St. Croix Hospice for the care and comfort they provided to Joanne.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Community Foundation of Chippewa County Howard and Joanne Olson Family Fund, or donor’s choice.
