Judith K. Sterling

Judith K. Sterling, age 85, of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Born on August 10, 1940, in Eau Claire, Judith was the beloved daughter of Glenn and Margaret (McCrackin) Hibbard. She graduated with the class of 1958 from McDonell High School and later, on July 9, 1960, she married Frederick Sterling at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls.

Judith’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and dedication. She cherished her time camping, baking, and participating in church activities. She devoted many years to Religious Education and faithfully handled bookkeeping duties at St. Charles. Judith also worked in Home Health Care, and above all, her heart was centered around her family. She found great comfort and strength in saying the Rosary, a testament to her deep spirituality.

A devoted wife and nurturing mother, Judith’s love extended warmly to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her gentle spirit and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

She is survived by her three sons, Patrick Sterling of Chippewa Falls, Keith (Kristine) Sterling of Chippewa Falls, and Gabriel (Nadine) Sterling of Cornell; her two daughters, Bridget Sterling of Withee and Jacquie (Duane) Canfield of Chippewa Falls; her grandchildren, Diana, Samantha, Shawn, Kristy, Nicolle (Sunny), Benjamen, Cameron (Madi), Zoe, Mallory (Leo), Marley, Dominic, Madison (Zayne), and Roman. Her legacy also lives on through numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many dear family members and friends.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick in 2005; grandson, Devon Duane Canfield who passed in infancy in 1988; and her brother, Patrick Hibbard in 1954.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Eau Claire, with visitation one hour prior. Fr. James Kurzynski and Fr. Frank Corradi will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Hope Catholic Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
