Judy Turner

Judy R. Turner, 65, of Chippewa Falls, died Friday, February 23, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family and while under the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice.

She was born May 30, 1952 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Edna (Slayton) and Mervin Hanson. She grew up in Sand Creek and graduated from Chetek High School, class of 1970.

Judy married Dan Turner and together had four children. They later divorced.

Judy worked as a beautician in Sand Creek for many years until her children were born. When her children were grown, she worked at various places in the area. Wherever she was employed, she was known to be a hard worker.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved animals and in her younger years, had horses and enjoyed trail riding. She liked cooking and particularly liked to cook for family and large groups of people. She loved meeting new people and her door was always open to family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, listening to country music and dancing.

Survivors include four children, Christina (David) Hetchler of Sand Creek, Angela (Jason) Bentley of Eau Claire, Dan Turner Jr. of Altoona, Jonathan (Sarah) Turner of Rock Falls; her significant other of 26 years, Dave Braden of Chetek; siblings, Caroline Neck of Chetek, Mervin Hanson of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Arianna and Blake Bentley, Thorsten Hetchler, Weston Turner, Kodiak, Autumn, Jesse and Bailey Turner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Nathan Turner in infancy; siblings, Jane Hanson, Maxine Peterson, Lorrine Freberg, Edmund "Pete" Freberg, Erna Fountain, Fredrick Hanson, and Albert Freberg.

A visitation and celebration of Judy's life will be held starting at 10 am, Thursday, March 1 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. At 11 am, a memorial service will be held with Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Barron County.

In honor of Judy’s love for animals, (especially dogs), memorials may go to Bob’s House For Dogs, E3015 County Rd HH, Eleva, WI 54738 or to the Chippewa Humane Association.
