Karen L. Tomkins

Karen L. Tomkins, 79, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023, under the care of Agrace Hospice.

Karen was born on September 13, 1944, in Chippewa Falls, WI, to Wilfred and Dorothy (nee Meredith) Klatt. She graduated from Chi-Hi in 1962 and went on to attend the Methodist Hospital Nursing School. As an R.N., Karen continued her education with the UW to become a psychiatric nurse.

She was an avid and beautiful piano player. Her music brought joy to both her family and community. Karen gave piano lessons and was involved with the Trinity United Methodist Church choir.

Karen is survived by her daughters, Tracy (nee Tomkins) Steinhofer (Scott Meeker), and Theresa “Terri” Tomkins; grandchildren, Jack Steinhofer (Tatum Mueller), Sam Steinhofer, Karley Tomkins (Bo Feuling), and Heather (nee Tomkins) and her husband John Milo; and great-grandchildren, Amelie and Fiona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Dorothy.

Private memorial services will be held by Karen’s family.
