Keith M. Connell, 82, of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Mayo Hospital in Bloomer, Wisconsin.
Keith was born on May 10, 1943, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Laverne and Joyce (Neubauer) Connell. A proud graduate of Altoona High School’s Class of 1961, he went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Stationed with Fighter Squadron 213, Keith demonstrated quiet strength and dedication, earning an honorable discharge in 1965.
On September 23, 1967, Keith married the love of his life, Linda Schunk, daughter of Louise and Edward. Together, they built a life grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. In 1977, they welcomed their daughter, Sarah, completing their family.
Keith devoted 23 years of his career to Uniroyal Tire Company in Eau Claire, where he served as a respected supervisor until the plant’s closure in 1992. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady leadership, and the respect he earned from those around him.
A man most at home in the outdoors, Keith found great joy in fishing, deer hunting, and making lasting memories with his family at “the cabin” on Lake Wissota. He cherished simple pleasures—especially a good game of cards, where he rarely passed up a chance to beat you at cribbage.
Keith was a dedicated member of the Elks Lodge and proudly served as Exalted Ruler from 1995 to 1996. His time with the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks reflected his generous spirit, as he actively supported charitable causes and community efforts.
Above all, Keith will be remembered for his deep love of family, his quick wit and sense of humor. He is survived by his beloved and dedicated wife of 58 years, Linda who was his caregiver for over a decade; daughters, Shelene Nunke (Darrin Vance) and Sarah (Daryl) Wojcik; grandchildren, Cashton Wojcik, CJ Pree (Dale Kennedy), Aleasha (Aaron) Phephles, and Kyle Pree (Jessalyn Plummer); great-grandchildren, Zoe, Nathaniel, Miles, and Annabelle; sisters, Colleen Connell and Janine (Bob) Wildenberg; and many other cherished relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laverne and Joyce Connell; and siblings, Pat Connell, Dennis Connell, and Diane Connell.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin.
