Laurie Lynn King, also affectionately known as "mom and grandma" ,59, of 4605 147th St., Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died, Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.

She was born May 11, 1955 in Eau Claire to Beverly Jean (Sturz) and Harvey H. Quale. She was raised in Altoona and graduated from Altoona High School in 1973. Laurie chose the adventure of moving to new places and doing new things. She has done a variety of different jobs in a lot of different places. She has always been a free spirit and not afraid to take chances.

Laurie's greatest pride and accomplishment was her family and especially loved being with her grandchildren.

Laurie married David King on January 11, 1997 in Eau Claire.

She is survived by her husband, David; one daughter, Stephanie (Kenny) Hester of Chippewa Falls; one son, Adam (Dana) Baliff of Altoona; one sister, Debra (Jerome) Kragness of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Evan (Shay) Gehde, Ellie Jo Gehde, Rylee Gehde and Hope Baliff; one great-granddaughter, Faith Gehde; her mother-in-law, Eileen King of Jim Falls; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 7 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Aaron Sturgis, Central Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m., until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
