Lee F. Kammeyer, 87, of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully at Colfax Senior Living on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

On May 9, 1938, Lee was born to Herbert D. and Isabelle (Bliss) Kammeyer in Ft. Wayne, IN. He attended K-9 in Fort Wayne later moving to Sebring, FL in 1953, where he met the love of his life Carol “Sissy” Schaefer. They married in July of 1957. Lee graduated from Sebring High School with the class of 1956, where he was All Conference in basketball his senior year. He then joined the US Navy in July of 1956. Lee retired from the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in 1976. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1038 and a member of Fleet Reserve Branch 136 in Minneapolis, MN. Lee spent many years on Aircraft carriers, The USS RANGER, USS FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, USS FORRESTAL USS CORAL SEA and USS AMERICA. He was an Aviation Electrician, the last plane he was assigned to was the F14. Lee worked at various places in the Chippewa Valley including Packerland Packing, Prange Way, and Gander Mountain.

Lee is survived by three daughters, Sheryl (Elmer) Winchell of Cadott, Lisa (Tom) Short of New Auburn, and Vicki Kammeyer of Chippewa Falls; two sons, Tim Kammeyer Chippewa Falls and John Kammeyer (Lisa) of Plum City; and a special daughter-in-law, Pam Kammeyer of River Falls; 21 grandchildren, Amy (Raymond) Mitchell, Chris Kammeyer, Jeremy (Marisa) Winchell, Jamie (Chiedu) Okeke, Nicole (Luke) Davis, Jacob (Jessica) Sines, Tyler Sines (Andrea), Mariah Sines, Mikala McManus (Jordan), Aaron Kammeyer, Jordan Kammeyer, Logan Kammeyer, Jessica (Ryan) Michels, Kathryn (Bryan) Wurzer, Heidi (Zac) Zakrzewski, Calie (Andrew) Vahey, Eric (Dawn) Tom, David Kammeyer (Alyson), Amanda Kammeyer, Reese Frohn (Allyson), and Carson Frohn; 33 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; a special brother-in-law, Don Schaefer; along with many other loving family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; daughter, Misty Sines; son, Michael Kammeyer; great-granddaughter, Luna Sines; great-grandson, Oliver Vahey; two sisters; Phyllis Wilkens and Anne Barr; and brother, Herbert Kammeyer.

The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice and the AMAZING Wonderful Staff at Colfax Senior living for the great care and special attention you gave our dad. A special Thank you to Judene.

A special thank you to the Rehab Department, especially Maggie and Jody, for always taking the time to make our Dad smile, he had the biggest smile when you walked in his room, you had a special place in (LeeHA’S) HEART.

The visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel. The interment will be at 11 a,m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, in the Northern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner.
