Lenore M. Fiscoe, 92, of Ocala, Florida (formerly of Chippewa Falls, WI) passed away at home Monday, October 16, 2023 while under the care of Hospice of Marion County, FL.
She was born Sept. 9, 1931 in Bloomer, the daughter of Minnie (Shanks) and Charles Neuenfeldt. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1950 and then attended the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
Lenore married Ronald Sommerfeld on Oct. 15, 1950, at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI. After the death of Ronald, she married Joseph Fiscoe on April 2,1989, at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. She was the bookkeeper for the family business (Chippewa Sausage Company) until April 1982. She assisted Potter Business Service during tax season and was the Volunteer Coordinator for St. Joseph’s Hospital until retiring in 1992. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church and was active in the Elks Ladies Auxiliary and the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Lenore was known for her diverse talents, ranging from art projects and playing the piano to home remodeling including framing walls, running wires, plumbing and reshingling roofs. She kept beautiful perennial gardens and had amazing landscaping skills, although always in constant battle with the resident chipmunks and squirrels!
Lenore was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Ronald Sommerfeld and Joseph Fiscoe, three children in infancy (Paul Gary, Mark Steven, Cheryl Marie) and a daughter Gail Ann.
Lenore is survived by a sister Dorothy (Walter) Powers of Menomonee Falls, three sons, Alan (Judy) of Williston, ND, Larry (Dana) of Ocala, FL and Bruce (Nancy) of Hudson, WI; stepdaughters, Patti (Mark) Norquist and Nina (James) Kramer of Chippewa Falls and Barb Shafer of Onalaska; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Pederson-Volker Funeral Home at 11:00 am Saturday November 11th with Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 am, prior to the service. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
