Lenore M. Wescott

Lenore Mae Wescott, 94, of Chippewa Falls, passed away in her home on Monday, April 15th, 2024. She was blessed to be surrounded by family in love and prayer during her final days of life.

Lenore was born on April 12th, 1930, in Eau Claire to Roland and Detta Vaudreuil. Lenore was the oldest of three children. She enjoyed growing up on Lake Wissota with her two brothers Dale and Armie. She graduated from McDonnell Memorial High School in 1947, where she was described as a “mathematical wizard and French to the core with an infectious laugh.” Following high school, she pursued her love of math at Mount Mary University in Wisconsin.

On November 19th, 1949, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Wescott in Chippewa Falls. Together they moved around as Robert finished his degree in Veterinary Medicine. Eventually they settled in Elgin, MN. where they built their life with their 13 children. Lenore was a smart, talented, take-charge woman of faith who served on many school and church committees, volunteered for hundreds of field trips and class parties, managed the books for her husband’s business all while raising 13 children. In 1996, she and Robert moved back to their home town of Chippewa Falls where they built a home on the river that became a place of love and fun for their large family and many friends. Lenore and Bob also loved to travel together and some of Lenore’s favorite times were spent road tripping in their motorhome.

When Lenore got to choose how to spend her time, you would find her in her sewing room. Through her beautiful quilts, cross stitch, painting and sewing, she left a legacy of love that will live on in her creations. Lenore also leaves a legacy of love that lives on in her 13 children, 45 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren. She has impacted many lives with her strong spiritual values, unapologetic honesty, selflessness and unconditional love.

She is survived by her children: Kathy (Jim) Schad, Fred (Jodi) Wescott, Karen (Bob) Keuler, Mark Wescott, John (Terry) Wescott, Teresa (Bill) Bruns, Sue (Don) Roper, Laurie Stewart, Jenny (Rick Stewart) Wescott, and Jacqui (Scott) DeGeus, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and brothers Armie and Dale Vaudreuil.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband Robert, sons David and Vincent, daughter Christine, and grandson Cody Wescott.

The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 26th at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, with a public prayer vigil and rosary at 6:30 p.m.

The funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27th at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Chippewa Falls, with a visitation at the church one hour prior.
