Linda L. Hoem, 68, of the town of Eagle Point, Chippewa Falls, died unexpectedly July 22, 2017 at HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born March 5, 1949 in Chippewa Falls to William and Maxine (Spike) McElroy. She grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1967. She worked for many years at Foreign 5 and Mason Shoe in Chippewa Falls.

Linda married Wallace A. Hoem on June 29, 1968 at First Congregational Church in Bloomer. They were members at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls for over 40 years, where Linda was active in the Women's Ministries.

Linda is survived by her children, Stacey Hoem (Dustin) Fingerson of Lone Rock, WI and Wesley (Regan) Hoem of Chippewa Falls; mother, Maxine Kowieski of Chippewa Falls; siblings, Bonnie (Roger) Reese of Chippewa Falls, Larry (Pam) McElroy of Jim Falls, Nancy (Dean) Gerrits of Chippewa Falls, Tom (Patty) McElroy of Chippewa Falls, Dennis (Mary) McElroy of Sheldon, WI, Mary Ann (Tom) Heidtke of Bloomer, Carol (Lee) Dzienkowski of Chippewa Falls, and Donald (Debbie) McElroy of Jim Falls; sister-in-law, Mary McElroy of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Leif, Liam and Bailey Fingerson, and Carter, Jackson and Treyton Hoem; godchildren, Kevin Bruhn, Christina Reese and Travis Richmond; special friend, Glenn Hudack Sr. of Cadott; her dear dog companion, Petunia; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace "Wally" in 2008; father, William McElroy, brother, Jim McElroy; and mother and father-in-law, Ieval and Wilma Hoem.

Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m., Sunday July 30 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 31 at Central Lutheran Church, 28 E. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls with Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at church on Monday. Interment will be at Morken Cemetery, town of Springfield, Jackson County.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
