Loretta L. Swan, 82, of Chippewa Falls, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic Health System – Eau Claire.
She was born August 8, 1941, in Chippewa Falls to Louis and Gertrude (Windsor) Hager.
Over the years, Loretta worked with her sister at Kmart, then at Pick-n-Save in Chippewa Falls until it closed in 2012. She loved people, especially kids, and most recently enjoyed helping at her granddaughter-in-law’s daycare. If her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had activities, Loretta was sure to be there. She also loved to play bingo at the KC Hall and try her luck on scratch-off lottery tickets with her great-granddaughter.
Loretta is survived by her children, Tammy (Tom) Dachel, Brenda (Mark) Zehm, Rick (Kathy) Swan, and Rod (Teri) Swan; grandchildren, Jason (Autum) Swan, Sheena (Shayne) Denning, Devin (Jenna) Dachel, Shawna (Matt) Gwiazda, Ryan Swan, Derek Dachel, Brittany (Matt) Murphy, Brandon (Dana) Hanson, Ricki Swan, Reece Swan, and Reed Swan; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Emerson, and Tripp Swan, Sylas Denning, Everly Dachel, Mariah, Ella, and Kolbin Gwiazda, Miles, Morgan, and Miller Murphy, Amelia Swan, and Cyrus Swan; dear friend, Barbara Denning; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Swan; siblings; Laverne Hager, Evelyn Hager, Viola “Tootie” Revoir, Darrel Hager, Chester Hager, Irma Lotts, Donny Hager, and Yvonne Dachel; niece, Rhonda Nordby; and significant other, Irvin “Butch” Walker.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, June 13 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 14 at Jacob’s Well Church, 989 122nd Street, Chippewa Falls with Pastor Paul Berthiaume officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery, Village of Lake Hallie at a later date.
