Marguerite “Skipper” A. Rank, 94, of Chippewa Falls, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Aggie’s Country Living in the town of Eagle Point, while under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
She was born September 26, 1931, in Chippewa Falls to Valentine and Angeline (Frenette) Connell.
On November 5, 1955, she married Earl Rank Jr. at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. Together they welcomed two daughters, Margo and Lauri.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire with an undergraduate degree in education, she received her master’s degree in special education from UW–Eau Claire. Skipper taught at Northern Center throughout her career, touching the lives of many. She continued teaching into her retirement as a youth mentor at Southview School for several years.
Skipper remained active and joyful, often attending classes at “The Y” where she built friendships and carried her signature smile. She enjoyed dancing, painting, learning to play the piano and was always cheering on her Green Bay Packers during football season. Skipper was a woman of deep faith, steadfast love and generous spirit. She prayed for others daily, celebrated life’s blessings wholeheartedly and trusted in God through every season.
Above all, Skipper was happiest while in the company of her family. She took great pleasure in time spent at the lake, tending to her beautiful garden and pond—which became the focal point of her yard and conversation—and ultimately, spending time in the home that she and Earl built together. Skipper also took pride in being a grandma (”Mugga”) to her two granddaughters, Madi and Rylee and later becoming a great-grandma of three.
Those left to cherish her memory include: daughters, Margo (Larry) Greene of Chippewa Falls, WI, Lauri Bolster of Prior Lake, MN; granddaughters Madi (Garett) Baer of Montrose, MN, Rylee (Scott) Jones of Lincoln, NE; great-grandchildren Reegan, Nolan and Lincoln Baer; and many nieces and nephews.
She now rests alongside her beloved husband, Earl; parents, Val and Angie Connell; brothers, James and Robert Connell; and sisters, Mary Jean Murphy, Patricia Murphy and Constance Weber.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on February 27 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls with Fr. Daniel Sedlacek officiating. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the church.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Aggie’s Country Living and St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care they provided Skipper during her stay.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” –Matthew 25:23
