Pastor Tim A. Jones

Pastor Timothy A. Jones, 55, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully at home under the care of Heartland Hospice on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

On July 20, 1971, Tim was born to Earl and Marlys Jones in San Pedro, California. He was baptized on August 25, 1972, and confirmed on May 18, 1986. He graduated from Concordia University, Saint Paul, and married Christine Jones in 1993. In 2004 he received his Masters of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne. On July 25, 2004, he was ordained and installed as pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bennett, and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stanwood, Iowa. He also served at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson, Iowa and Zion Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

During his life Tim loved teaching others about the Lord, which was reflected in his confirmation verse Mark 10:14. “But when Jesus saw it, he was indigent and said to them, Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God”. In addition he enjoyed woodworking, with several pieces currently in use at Zion Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed building Lego and reading during his free time. Later in his life he enjoyed traveling with his family to visit several locations across the U.S.

Tim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Christine; children, Karl, Joanna and Elijah; his mother, and siblings. He was preceded in death by his son Benjamin and his Father.

The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church, 110 E. Grand Ave., Chippewa Falls.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastor Brad Thomas will be officiating. The interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church for the Stained-Glass Fund.
