Philip Pitsch

September 24, 1935 — April 23, 2018

Philip L. Pitsch, 82, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Minneapolis, MN died Monday, April 23, 2018 at Our House Memory Care while under the care of Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice.

Phil was born September 24, 1935 in Menomonie, WI to Harold and Janette (Wolfe) Pitsch. He graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1953 and then attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, graduating in 1957.

In 1957 he married Mary Jo Davey and they had three children.

He married Elizabeth Windmiller in 1983.

He was employed by U.S. Steel in Duluth, MN then Laventhol & Horwrath accounting firm in Minneapolis where he became partner.

Phil enjoyed watching and cheering on the Packers and MN Twins as well as his local Chi-Hi football team. He was active in the Rotary and Elks Clubs as well as Little League Baseball and the Jim Falls Sturgeon Baseball League.

On June 15, 2000 he married Shari (Kolstad) McIlquham in Lake Havasu City, AZ. They spent winters in Arizona and the rest of the year in Chippewa Falls. Together they enjoyed travelling, the Rocky Mountains and Hawaii were a few of Phil’s favorite places.

Phil is survived by his wife, Shari; children, Kym (Fred) Poulsom of Plymouth, MN, Kevin (Pat) Pitsch of Weatherford, TX and Tim (Sherry Fletcher) Pitsch of Wiggens, MS; grandchildren, Caitlyn (Paul) Stehlin, Philip Pitsch, Emily Pitsch, TJ (Tu) Pitsch and Jennie Pitsch; 4 great-grandchildren; 5 step-children; 10 step-grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; and brothers, Larry (Barbara) Pitsch of Bedford, NH and Rodney (Maureen) Pitsch of Minneapolis, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Mary Jo.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 5 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Terri Koca officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Parkinson’s Foundation MN, 8085 Wayzata Blvd. Suite 100, Golden Valley, MN 55426 or the Chippewa Falls Athletic Program, 735 Terrill St., Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice as well as the staff of Our House for the wonderful care they provided for Phil.
