Phyllis A. Henkelman, 90, of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
On September 4, 1935, Phyllis was born to Lowell Crawford and Virginia (Prohl) Beatty in Hammond, IN. She attended Hammond High School graduating with the class of 1953. Phyllis later attended Perdue University graduating with a mathematics degree. She was united in marriage to Thomas Henkelmann, on July 20, 1974.
Phyliss had many hobbies that kept her busy throughout the years. She taught water aerobics for 15 years in Omaha Nebraska and in Peoria Arizona. She also took a class and learned how to braid wool rugs. This became a passion, and she would work on braiding rugs for all her friends and family. Once she made her 100th rug she decided that was enough.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Tom Henkelmann of Chippewa Falls, WI; daughter, Laura (Paul) Harrigan of San Antonio Texas; three sons, Tom (Jane) Robertson of Avon Indiana, Mark (Lisa) Henkelmann of Bristol England and David (Amy) Henkelmann of Chippewa Falls, WI. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Ada, Stewart, Bobby, Henry, Gus, Rylee, and Laney; along with her brother, William Beatty of Munster, Indiana; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell Crawford and Virginia (Prohl) Beatty.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, Chippewa Falls, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastor Troy Solava will be officiating.
