Richard "Rick" O. Syverson

Richard “Rick” Odell Syverson, age 85, passed away on February 4, 2026, at the Veterans Home of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He was born on June 22, 1940, in Albertville, Wisconsin, to Norman William and Lela Mae Syverson.

Rick will be remembered for growing a wonderful garden, his eccentric collections, and his dedication to the AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) community for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the US Army and resided at the Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls. He worked at Pope and Talbot for 25 years until his retirement in 1992.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lela and Norman Syverson; and his brothers, Allan and James Syverson.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Marie O’Connor and Michelle Renee Syverson Weber (Michael); four grandchildren, Hunter and Reese Weber, and Johanna and Lillian O’Connor. He is further survived by his longtime partner, Joan Sperry, and her children, Bobby Ridings, Gary Ridings, and Shawn Ducommun; siblings, Daniel Syverson, Kenneth Syverson, and Anita Racine, and their families.

A visitation will be held on February 21st, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Pederson-Volker Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, with Military Honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council at noon.
