Richard M. Taylor, 90, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls, under the care of St. Croix Hospice on Monday, March 25, 2024.

On December 30, 1933, Richard was born to Frank and Orpha (Tallman) Taylor in the town of Sampson, Chippewa County WI, where he was raised until the age of 8 when his family moved to Bloomer then to Chippewa Falls. Richard worked for Crane Lumber and Chippewa rendering from 1956 to 1962. He then moved to Racine, working at ISC and Bell City until 1977. Richard was the caretaker/sexton at Holy Cross Cemetery from 1977-1987, then at Prairie view Cemetery in Lake Hallie until his retirement in 1996.

Richard is survived by his sons, Jerry (Rita) Taylor of Lubbock, TX and Doug (Gayle) Taylor of Adams, WI; daughter, Carrol (Stephen Sr.) Fritzler of Stanley, WI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosa Blake and Ruby Hakes; special friend, Donna Gullickson; along with many other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Shenkenberg; first wife, Beverly; second wife, Ruby; siblings, Lillian, Harold, Alvin, William, Mary, and Henry.

The visitation at 3 to 5 pm on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Rutledge Home, 300 Bridgewater Ave., Chippewa Fall or to Zion Lutheran Church, 110 E. Grand Ave., Chippewa Falls.

The family would like to thank all the pastors for all their care and support given to Richard.
