Roger B. Howard

Roger B. Howard, 84, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Milestone Senior Living in Eau Claire.

He was born June 5, 1939, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, to Raymond E. and Mary Ellen (Krisik) Howard, and graduated Ladysmith High School in 1957.

On June 13, 1970, Roger married Joan Ferm in Ladysmith. 

Roger found many occupations over the years, including working at Control Data and Cray Research. He volunteered for the Lafayette Fire Department. His hobbies varied from gardening to genealogical research- especially when his beloved wife was involved. Both were longtime members of the Chippewa County Genealogical Society and supporters of the Chippewa Area History Center.

Roger is survived by his children, Michael (Sandy) Bishop, and David (Christine) Bishop; grandchildren, Ambria (Wolfe), Andi, Karah (Mitch), and Aaron (Allison); great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, and Teddy; brother, Richard (Dana) Howard; sister-in-law, Barbara Howard; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; parents, Raymond and Mary Ellen; and brother, Thomas.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., April 19, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia St., with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Chippewa Area History Center.
