Rose M. Roloff

Rose M. Roloff, 93, of Tinley Park IL, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died Monday, February 19, 2024, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet, IL.

Rose was born December 27, 1930, in Chicago, IL to John and Julia (Lorence) Cynor.

On September 30, 1961, she married Wesley R. Roloff at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Hickory Hills, IL.

Rose owned and operated her own hair salon called Hair Designers Salon. She employed several stylists, 2 of which were her daughters. She was very big into continuing education and studied all over the United States throughout her career. Before her daughters were born she lived in Chicago, IL with her brothers, and she was the head stylist at Carson Perrie Scott where she made 2 of her closest friends. She went to a dance hall in the suburbs of Chicago, where she met Wesley. They loved to dance. They were a very good dance couple and everyone enjoyed watching the two of them swing around the dance floor.  Rose’s family are very talented musicians, and many parties were had dancing the polka.

Rose also loved sports. She grew up watching baseball with her entire family, including the girls! She loved to talk Cubs, Brewers, White Sox, and the World Series, but also loved the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, and you could often hear conversations with her siblings about the Wisconsin Badgers.

Rose had a passion for flowers!! Wes and her had beautiful gardens that they took care of together. Her condo association made her the official resident to make the “park” (as Wes liked to call it) colorful, and she cared for it dutifully. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She would make up plays and the family all had a part in her play.

Cooking and baking were her specialty, and had several dishes that only she could make if she went someplace. Her famous potato salad was a hit, German style also. A favorite dish she needed to make for birthdays was her hotdish (as we called it), and she also made the best pound cake around!

Rose cherished spending time with her family and appreciated every single one of her family, and there are a lot of us. She was the one everyone went to for anything. She would be on the phone everyday with all of her brothers and sisters, daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends if she couldn’t see them in person.

She loved to gamble, but was big with the penny slots. It was an outing for the birthdays for sure. Her biggest achievement was her ability to make friends wherever she went. Everybody loved Rose!

Rose is survived by her daughters, Diane (Mark) Jacyno of Conroe, TX, Debra (Andrew) Koson of Tinley Park, IL; grandchildren, William Dunnett III of Midlothian, IL, Jacob (Katelyn) Dunnett of Tinley Park, IL, Danielle Koson of Tinley Park, IL, Alexandria (Joseph) Garrett of Monee, IL, Bethany Koson of Munster, IN; great-grandchildren, Ethan John Dunnett, Lilah Rose Dunnett, Liam Mason Garrett, Keegan Reece Garrett. Siblings, Evelyn Lompa, Dorothy Haraburda, Jack Cynor, and Joseph Cynor, and many, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wes in 2016; brothers, George, Frank, Jim, Robert, Charles, and Theodore Cynor; and sister, Ethel Cynor.
