Rosemary M. "Rosie" Holman, 64, of Bloomer, town of Cleveland, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at her home.

She was born March 27, 1947 in Rice Lake to Marie (Janzen) and Anthony Brueggen. She grew up in Rice Lake and graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1965.

Rosie married Duane Holman on October 18, 1969 in Rice Lake. They began their life together in Madison where they resided until 1977 when they moved to Eau Claire to be closer to family. They moved again to Bloomer in 1998 to enjoy life on the lake. She worked as an office manager for various businesses, including Holstein Association and J.C. Norby and Associates in Eau Claire until retiring.

She was an active member of Landmark Christian Church in Hallie serving as treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She was a passionate master gardener and with her green thumb, made beautiful gardens for all to enjoy. She loved to bake and be hostess to her friends and family who enjoyed her cooking and her company. She enjoyed decorating, playing cards, reading, family vacations and wintering in Florida with Duane and their close friends. Although Rosie had many interests and hobbies, her most notable prizes were her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and cherished every moment spent with them.

She will be missed by her husband, Duane of Bloomer; her children, Jenny (Jeff) Barr of Bloomer, Luke (Tracy) Holman of Evansville; three brothers, Alvin (Esther) of Rice Lake, Wilfred (Dixie) of Rice Lake, Jerome (Dorothy) Brueggen of Hayward; two sisters, Verna Williams of Knoxville, TN, Anna Marie (Jack) Hulbert of Luck; five grandchildren, John, Jessica, Sawyer, Logan and Seattle; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alvera Petrofske; and two brothers, Luverne and Arthur Brueggen.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 13 at Landmark Christian Church in the Village of Lake Hallie, with the Rev. Brad Crocker officiating. Burial will be in the Northern Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 12 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Afterservice

A funeral service for Rosemary M. "Rosie" Holman, 64, of Bloomer, town of Cleveland, was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Landmark Christian Church in Hallie. Pastor Brad Crocker officiated and music was provided by organist, Jean Zylstra and vocalist Harvey McEathron. The eulogy was given by Linda Llinas and Mary Sanford. Interment was in the Northern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
