Ruth Cournoyer

Ruth M.Stafford Cournoyer, 88, of Barrington, Ill., formerly of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at her home in Barrington, Ill.

She was born July 23, 1922 in Chippewa Falls to Mildred M. (Anderson) and Harold E. Stafford. She was raised in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School. She then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Ruth married Robert L. Cournoyer on Jan. 27, 1944 in San Bernadino, Calif., and while living in Calif., she was employed by the U.S. Army as an illustrator.
