Su Nyon Mense, 71, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Dove Healthcare South, Eau Claire.
She was born on July 21, 1955, in South Korea. In 1976, she traveled to the United States, beginning a new chapter of her life. While living in Virginia, she met Dale while he was in the Army. Their relationship eventually brought them back to Wisconsin, where they married at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls on July 21, 1979.
Su worked for Burger King for more than 20 years, where she became a very familiar face to the community until she was finally able to retire.
In her free time, Su enjoyed attending auctions with Dale and the occasional “Sunday” drive. After his passing, she continued to enjoy one of her favorite pastimes—trying her luck at the casino!
Su is survived by son, Jamie (Veronica) Mense of Eau Claire; daughters, LeAnn (Jana Oldenberg) Mense of Eau Claire and Janet (Clarence) Collins of Montana; granddaughters, Trinity and Katelynn; sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Jim) Grossklaus of Eau Claire and Linda Bowe of Chippewa Falls; brothers-in-law, Dean (JoAnn) Mense of Durand, Lorry (Renee Kittleson) Mense of Stanley, and Randy Snider of Hayward; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, his parents, sister-in-law, Janice Snider, and brother-in-law, Martin Bowe.
Per Su's wishes, private family services will be held.
