Virginia E. Shafer-Snyder, 96, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Hallie Memory Care.
She was born September 25, 1921 in Wimbledon, North Dakota to Eva (Kistner) and Joseph Haynes. She grew up in Menomonie where she attended Beaver Creek School, which was a one-room school.
Virginia was employed as an aide at the Northern Center for over 30 years until her retirement.
Virginia was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, where she was a devoted and faithful member. In her leisure, she enjoyed playing cards and doing embroidery.
Virginia married Harold Graham and together had five children.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Couey-Brown, Judy Dempsey and Joyce Sewilo, all of Chippewa Falls; a son, Jerry (Becky) Graham of Edina, MN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter-in-law, Judy Graham; her son, Richard Graham; and grandson, Bobby Graham.
A private service will be held with spring burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
