Walter "Wally" J. Chevrier, Jr.

Walter “Wally” J. Chevrier Jr., 81, of Chippewa Falls, died Friday, June 16, 2023, at Meadowbrook Senior Living in Chetek.

On June 17, 1941, Wally was born to Walter and Ruth (Randall) Chevrier. Wally farmed in the Cornell area then worked for the Railrod in New Holstein. He later worked at Presto followed by NSP. He owned and operated Crazy Wally’s Bait Shop in Chippewa Falls for 13 years. Following retirement, to keep busy, he worked at Fireside Resort in Bruce.

Wally is survived by his children, Patty, Jimmy (Andrea) & Todd Chevrier; granddaughters, Chelsea, Celine, Hannah, and Tyla Chevrier; grandson, Christian Thummel; former wife, Joan Quigley; siblings, Georgetta Marquardt (Dan Weigel), Nevada Holliday (Pete Hall), and Cooter (Rhonda) Chevrier; five great-grandchildren; cousin, Delbert (Vicki) Crowell; along with many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Wally was preceded in death by his brother, Lamone; grandson, Shelby; and his parents.

The visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, June 22, at Pederson Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia Street, Chippewa Falls. The interment will be at a later date in Cleveland Cemetery, Town of Cleveland, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Joan Quigley.
