Mary Zais, 77, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System Eau Claire.

She was born March 3, 1937 in Waukesha to Magdalene (Kramshuster) and Cyril Bautz. At the age of 14, she moved with her family to Bloomer and graduated from Bloomer High School in 1954.

On September 26, 1956, Mary married Lee Roy Zais at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer. They resided in Chippewa Falls and Mary was employed at Amoco Mfg. for 22 years from 1974, until her retirement in 1996.

Mary's generous and giving spirit will be remembered by her family and the many families she helped over the years. She cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed antiquing, thrift sales and being with friends.

Survivors include five sons, Peter (Kay), Andrew (Kelly), Daniel (Rebecca), David, and James (Patricia); a sister, Anna L. Greene; a son-in-law, Roger Fritz; five grandchildren, Hannah Theisen, Elizabeth (Curtis) Meyer, Simon, Isaac and Aaron Zais; and two great-grandchildren, Connor Kahle and Khloe Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Roy on March 14, 2008; and her daughter, Katharine Fritz.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 2 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Chippewa Falls with Fr. Victor Inbaraj and Fr. Joseph Valentine concelebrating the Mass.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, August 1 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE

A memorial service for Mary Zais, 77, of Chippewa Falls was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 2 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. Fr. Victor Inbaraj and Fr. G. Valentine Joseph officiated and music was provided by Judy Brist. Readings were given by Patti Lokken, Grace Dubiel and Char Connell. Gift bearers were Rebecca Zais and Charlie Connell.
